Peewee A Shows We Care

On November 17 our Kings were prepared to play against our West Carleton opponents.  The game needed to be rescheduled, partly because of some challenges within the team, and in particular what one family was going through.  One of the fathers of two of the boys on the team was very seriously injured in a farming accident.  Our manager quickly polled the team and asked about finding a way to help support and we had some great idea’s and lots of volunteers support to try and help a family in need.  We decided to run a 50/50 draw for our next two home games (the second of which is against West Carleton) and also set up a station for donations.  In addition we have had the players wear yellow and black tape on their skates as a sign of our support for a family in need .  A great example of how this great game can teach all of us and our players so much more than just hockey.
